Come Learn Taiji With Us!

We offer Foundation (200hr) and Advanced (500hr) courses in Yang Style taiji (tai chi). Though it is easy to learn the essentials of taiji, it is rare that they are taught in a direct and comprehensible manner, so you’ve come to the right place. The main focus of our courses is on how you can use taiji to increase your health and vitality, but the elegant power of classical martial taiji becomes apparent when you learn taiji self-defense and discover the secret methods of increasing and directing your internal energy.

Why Practice Taiji?

More and more studies are showing the benefits of taiji, and unlike other forms of exercise, taiji can be practiced anywhere. The warm ups, borrowing from silk-reeling and qigong exercises, increase the health of the joints and balance out the flow of energy throughout your body. Taiji's deep breathing and meditative movements exert an immediate calming effect and improve your ability to respond positively to stress, while the flowing steps of the taiji form increase leg strength, flexibility, and balance.

Our weekly classes are a good place to get your feet wet or to compliment a taiji style that you already practice. Our weekend workshops offer glimpses into the deeper aspects of taiji and are a good option for those who don't live in the South San Francisco Bay. Our Foundation and Advanced Living Taiji Courses are for those interested in learning to use taiji as a personal practice or who wish to share the art of taiji with others.
